Legal Expert Work
Offering legal expert work in the areas of trauma/PTSD, dissociation and burnout.
Licensed in NY and NJ, I bring over 15 years of experience to bear, across a broad spectrum of clinical and research settings, including: hospital outpatient and inpatient care, college counseling centers, and the community mental health sector.
I have held multiple academic titles, at institutions including Columbia University Medical School, City University of New York, Mount Sinai Medical Center, and the National Institute for the Psychotherapies. I am also active within the National Institute for the Psychotherapies' Integrative Trauma Studies Program, providing consultation as well as program development expertise.
I have a special interest and expertise in the area of trauma; in particular in the assessment and treatment of dissociation and posttraumatic stress disorders. My research addresses the nuances of challenging client behaviors and aims to enhance resilience among mental health providers facing occupational burnout and vicarious traumatization.
In addition to my clinical and academic roles, I assist attorneys in legal cases involving individuals who have endured trauma. I am well-versed in the assessment of trauma and dissociation, using the most current measures (both interview and self-report) and comprehensive interview techniques. I provide critical expertise to quantify and elucidate the psychological impact of trauma/PTSD, and excel at presenting clear, comprehensible testimony to judges and juries.
